Terms and conditions
Trial Run
Before taking on any new clients, owners and dogs are subject to a meeting where Kelly will meet with both the owners and dogs to go through a dog/client profile which will be kept on record.
All dog walking will begin on a 4 session trial run to make sure that the walker/owner are happy with the service provided and gives kelly time to select the most suitable session.
Booking and Cancellations
All bookings/changes need to be made at least 24 hours before the session is carried out.
If any changes need to be made then you can do so 24 hours before but cancellations made after the 24 hour period will result in a full charge being made. (unless in special circumstances). Dogs who are ill or in season will be given the option to move their booking, if it is within the 24 hour notice period.
Payments
Please kindly pay any invoices 24 hours before a booked walk via bank transfer unless agreed other wise.
Timing
Kelly will do her best to be punctual and reliable, however in the case of road closure, traffic and unforeseen circumstances it may be tricky to turn up at the exacte allocated time.
So timings given will have a grace period of 30 mins. If the delay will be greater than 30 mins Kelly will contact you.
Social Walks
All new dogs will be introduced to an existing group/dog to ensure safety and welfare of the new/existing dog, to check for compatibility.
Equipment
I will provide all leads, toys and treats (unless your dog has special needs or dietary requirements)
I will check that all leads, collars, harnesses and toys are fit for purpose and check for wear and tear before use.
Transporting dogs.
The Welfare and comfort of your dog is paramount so when transporting your dogs I will ensure
-
Suitable sized vehicle with windows so the dogs are not in the dark
-
Space to lie down and relax after their snuffle trail
-
Clean water and bowl
-
Clean bedding and towels.
When picking up for group walks Kelly will ensure that all dogs already in the vehicles are secured safely and the doors will be locked. Kelly will try to get as close as possible to the dogs house to ensure that the dogs are spending the least time possible in the vehicle.
Alternatives to walking
Sometimes it is not possible to walk a dog. I can offer alternative enrichment to suit your dog. This may be as your dog is.
-
In Season
-
Medical recovery
-
Extreme weather may mean a change of walk time.
How the hot weather can effect your dog depends on a few factors such as breed, age, health and temperment. As a guide, if temperatures rise above 25C Kelly will contact the owner and discuss individually to make a decision based on their dogs needs, and move walks to a cooler time.
Emergency Care & Veterinary Treatment
Emergency Contact Details
Clients must provide at least two emergency contact numbers when registering with Snuffle Trails.
These contacts should be people who can make decisions about your dog’s care if you are unavailable.
Accidents and Emergencies
While every care is taken to ensure the safety of your dog, accidents or emergencies may occasionally occur.
If an incident happens, Snuffle Trails will make every reasonable effort to contact you or your emergency contacts immediately.
Veterinary Care
If your dog requires veterinary attention, Snuffle Trails will contact you (or your emergency contact) before attending the vets, wherever possible.
In circumstances where urgent treatment is necessary and you or your emergency contacts cannot be reached, Snuffle Trails reserves the right to seek veterinary care on your behalf in the best interests of your dog.
Payment and Insurance
Snuffle Trails holds appropriate public liability and pet business insurance.
Veterinary treatment costs will remain the responsibility of the client/owner, regardless of whether they are paid directly at the time of treatment or invoiced later by the veterinary practice.
Any insurance held by Snuffle Trails does not replace the need for clients to maintain their own pet insurance.
First Aid
Kelly has her First Aid Dog Certficate and will always carry a first aid kit and water.
Vaccinations
After their 2nd puppy vaccinations Puppies are able to build full immunity to core diseases such as Parvovirus. This means that they can then begin to go out into the wider world and mix with other dogs safely.
We are more than happy to spend time with Puppies at your home before they have their 2nd vaccination, to get to know them in preparation to go on walks away from their home.
All dogs regardless of age, need to be fully treated for Ticks, Fleas and worms. Parasitic infestation can easily spread from dog to dog and so we would not be able to walk dogs in a social group, if they have not been treated or take dogs out in our Vehicle as this could lead to a risk to other dogs and our business, which may incur a cost to you the owner if your dog is not treated.
I.D and Microchipping
It is a Legal requirement that all dogs in the U.K, when out in public, are wearing a collar with the name and address of the owner. It is also advisable that you include a telephone number in case of emergency.
You can be fined up to £500 if your dog is not Microchipped. All dogs need to be microchipped and registered on a database by the time that they are 8 weeks old.
Please ensure that you provide these details to your dog walker. We will also add our mobile number, to each dog that we are walking, in case of emergency, when they are in our care.
